Monticello, NY – Winter weather advisories have been issued for several counties in New York and Pennsylvania, with snow expected to create hazardous travel conditions from Thursday evening into Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Binghamton, snow accumulations of up to 7 inches are anticipated in the higher elevations of Delaware and Sullivan counties. The advisory begins at 4 p.m. Thursday and continues until 1 a.m. Saturday. Lower elevations will see lighter snowfall, reducing impacts in valley areas.

In Pennsylvania, Bradford, Northern Wayne, Pike, and Susquehanna counties are also under a winter weather advisory. The NWS expects snow accumulations of up to 6 inches in higher elevations between 4 p.m. Thursday and 4 p.m. Friday.

A separate advisory from the NWS in Albany highlights snow in Western Greene and Western Ulster counties. Elevations above 3,000 feet could see up to 9 inches of accumulation, with the advisory also lasting from 4 p.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. Saturday.

Travelers are urged to exercise caution as slippery roads are expected to impact commutes Thursday evening and Friday morning. For the latest road conditions, officials recommend contacting 511 or visiting state-specific traffic resources.
