Lake George, NY – A statewide AMBER Alert has been issued for a 9-year-old girl abducted Friday night from the Lake George area under what authorities describe as life-threatening circumstances.
According to the New York State Police, Melina Galanis Frattolin was last seen around 9:40 p.m. on Friday in Lake George, New York. The child is described as an Indian female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing approximately 5 feet tall and weighing around 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue and white striped shirt, shorts, and white Adidas sneakers.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the State Police Investigative Support Unit are leading the investigation. Authorities stated that the child’s disappearance occurred under conditions that suggest she is in imminent danger of serious bodily harm and/or death.
The suspect in the case remains unknown at this time. However, the child was reportedly seen entering a white van heading southbound on Interstate 87 near exit 22.
Law enforcement is urging the public to remain alert and to contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at (518) 743-2501 or dial 911 immediately if Melina is seen or if anyone has information related to her disappearance.
The AMBER Alert remains active statewide as police work to gather more details and locate the missing child.
