St. Louis, MO – Drivers across Missouri, particularly on I-70, should prepare for dense fog this morning and scattered showers later today. Visibility is significantly reduced in parts of the region, with the National Weather Service (NWS) issuing a Dense Fog Advisory until noon.

According to the NWS St. Louis office, rain and fog will taper off by midday, but scattered showers and a possible thunderstorm may develop this afternoon. Highs are expected to reach between 50 and 58 degrees, with west winds of 6 to 11 mph. The forecast calls for conditions to remain cloudy and damp into the evening hours, potentially impacting post-holiday travel.

Monday brings a slight chance of lingering rain during the morning, followed by dry and overcast conditions. Highs will hover near 54 degrees, with calmer winds providing some relief. Looking ahead to New Year’s Eve, skies will clear, with highs around 38 degrees and lows dropping to a chilly 28 degrees.

Travelers should use caution, especially on wet roads with reduced visibility this morning. Fog can obscure lane markers and road signs, so slow speeds and extra following distance are advised.

With rain chances returning on Tuesday and partial clearing by midweek, residents are urged to stay informed through local weather updates. Plan for mixed conditions to affect New Year’s celebrations and road travel.
