New Orleans, LA – Louisiana State Police announced Monday that a multi-agency drug investigation spanning New Orleans and Slidell led to the recovery of narcotics, cash, and a stolen firearm.

According to Louisiana State Police, Troop NOLA Troopers worked with the Bureau of Investigations, SWAT, and the Fugitive Apprehension Unit to execute multiple search warrants. Authorities reported seizing nearly $30,000 in cash, almost 14 pounds of marijuana, more than 300 grams of THC vape oil, and numerous items connected to narcotics and financial crimes.

As a result of the operation, two men were arrested. Police said 22-year-old Raymond Smith Jr. was taken into custody on charges including possession with intent to distribute marijuana and THC, conspiracy to commit distribution of controlled substances, identity theft, two counts of bank fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, forgery, and two counts of access device fraud.

Troopers also arrested 38-year-old Freddie Polk Jr. on charges of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I substances, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
