Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico is in for a temperature roller coaster this weekend, with freezing nights giving way to near 70-degree afternoons by Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday and Saturday nights will be brisk, with lows dropping to around 21°F. However, the days will bring steady warmth, with highs reaching 56°F on Friday, 60°F on Saturday, and 69°F on Sunday. The warm-up peaks Monday, when Albuquerque is expected to hit 73°F under sunny skies.

Residents should prepare for chilly early mornings, but the afternoons will feel spring-like. Layering up in the morning and shedding layers as the day progresses will be key. The dry conditions make this a perfect weekend for outdoor activities, whether it’s hiking, biking, or just soaking in the sun.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will also see a high near 72°F before a slight cooldown midweek. No significant storms or precipitation are expected, ensuring a mild and enjoyable start to February.

With such dramatic temperature swings, it’s a good time to check on heating systems at night while enjoying the warmth during the day.
