Albuquerque, N.M. – Warm, dry fall weather will dominate central New Mexico through the weekend, but storm chances build as early as Monday afternoon, potentially disrupting outdoor events and commutes. Highs will remain in the 80s through Sunday before a cooler, unsettled pattern develops.

According to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, Friday through Sunday will stay sunny and seasonably warm, with highs between 82 and 87 degrees and overnight lows dipping into the 50s. Winds will generally be light, though gusts may reach 30 mph on Saturday afternoon, especially in open valleys.

By Monday, moisture begins to return with a slight chance of sprinkles in the afternoon. A more organized storm system follows Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing 40 to 50 percent chances of showers and thunderstorms across Bernalillo County and surrounding areas. Forecasters warn of possible downpours, lightning, and brief travel delays on I-25, I-40, and near the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Park.

Outdoor events, including balloon launches, may face cancellations or weather delays starting early next week. Officials urge residents and visitors to keep devices charged, secure outdoor gear, and allow extra travel time during storm periods. Clear skies through Sunday provide a window for safe outdoor activity, but conditions will shift quickly once the pattern changes.
