New Mexico greets the morning with cool desert air and pink light spilling over the Sandia Mountains. Albuquerque sits at 46 degrees under partly cloudy skies, and the air still carries a crisp early-March edge.
Sunshine quickly takes over today. Highs surge to 81 degrees by midafternoon. Light winds turn southwest at 10 to 15 mph, adding a gentle breeze across I-25 and Central Avenue. It will feel like a true spring tease across the metro.
Keep layers handy this morning, but short sleeves will be comfortable later today.

Tuesday stays mostly sunny with highs around 74 degrees. West winds increase to 10 to 15 mph by late morning. Tuesday night cools to 37 under mostly clear skies, reminding us it’s still late winter on the calendar.
Wednesday brings more sunshine and a high near 73 degrees. Snowmelt will continue in higher elevations, though no valley precipitation is expected. Wednesday night dips to 38.
Thursday remains sunny with highs near 74 degrees. By Friday, temperatures ease back to the mid-60s, offering a mild cooldown into the weekend.
Across much of the country, mixed precipitation and even snow are tracking through the central and eastern states. Here in central New Mexico, early spring warmth is firmly in place.
