Albuquerque, NM – The National Weather Service in Albuquerque reports that a winter storm will continue to move across northern and central New Mexico tonight, bringing moderate to heavy snow to the northern mountains and Raton Pass, with lighter snow extending into parts of the central highlands.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and areas near Red River and Raton, while a Winter Weather Advisory covers parts of the Santa Fe metro area, Las Vegas, and Clines Corners.

Snow is expected to ramp up this evening and taper off by sunrise Thursday, with totals of 4–8 inches possible in the higher elevations and 1–4 inches in lower mountain passes.
Travel impacts are likely along I-25 from Las Vegas to Raton and I-40 from Albuquerque to Clines Corners, where slick and snow-packed conditions may occur overnight.

Drivers are urged to delay travel if possible and use caution if on the roads tonight. Conditions should improve through Thursday as the storm exits to the east.
