Albuquerque, NM – Today, New Mexico is expected to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, primarily impacting the northern areas of the state. This weather pattern, while covering less ground than in the past few days, still brings the potential for severe storms, particularly in the northeastern regions. Residents in and around Albuquerque should be vigilant, as these storms may include large hail and damaging winds.
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Severe Weather Outlook for today, noting that a few storms could escalate to strong or severe levels through the evening. The highest risk lies within 100 miles northeast of Albuquerque, where storm conditions are most favorable.
In addition to the storm threats, temperatures across central valleys and the eastern plains, including Albuquerque, are expected to climb into the 90s. This increase marks a noticeable warm-up from previous days, especially in the lower elevation areas.
