Santa Fe, NM – The Santa Fe Police Department has identified Gordan Peter Wilson, 83, as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred at the Best Buy on Zafarano Drive on Tuesday morning. Wilson, a resident of Santa Fe, succumbed to his injuries shortly after the incident.
The suspect remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Police are urging anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts or the victim’s vehicle to contact the Santa Fe Police Department. Do not approach the suspect; call 911 immediately.
According to Santa Fe Police, officers were dispatched to the Best Buy at approximately 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday after reports of a possible shooting. Upon arrival at 10:26 a.m., officers found Wilson had been shot in the parking lot.
The suspect fled the scene in Wilson’s 2020 blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, bearing New Mexico registration plate CRM142. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a goatee and tattoos on his arms, wearing black jeans, a bright blue shirt with a button-up shirt underneath, and a white baseball cap.
A stock photo of the vehicle has been released to aid in the search. Officers continue to actively search for the male suspect.
