Albuquerque, N.M. – Triple-digit heat continues to grip central and southern New Mexico as a heat advisory remains in effect through 7 p.m. Tuesday, with temperatures expected to hit 105°F in Chaves County and up to 102°F across the Albuquerque Metro.
According to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, much of the Middle Rio Grande Valley, including Albuquerque, Roswell, and the Chaves County Plains, is at risk for heat-related illnesses as the heat index pushes toward the “Major” risk category. Not all areas will hit 100°F, but prolonged exposure remains dangerous.
