Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico is experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures, with record highs expected through Wednesday. Forecasters predict widespread 70s and 80s across central, eastern, and southern areas.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Albuquerque, temperatures will average 15 to 25 degrees above normal. The warmest days will be Monday and Tuesday. Breezy winds and very low humidity will accompany the heat, increasing fire danger.

Officials urge residents to follow fire safety precautions, as dry conditions may lead to rapid wildfire spread. The warmth is expected to continue until midweek, with winds strengthening by Wednesday.

The NWS advises staying updated on weather conditions and avoiding activities that could spark fires. While the warmth may feel pleasant, the combination of heat, wind, and dry air raises safety concerns.

Residents should prepare for continued high temperatures and monitor local forecasts for any changes.
