Atlantic City, N.J. – June 2025 brought an early taste of summer heat to the Jersey Shore, as Atlantic City logged temperatures nearly 3°F above normal and rainfall totals well below average.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, the city’s average temperature last month was 74.2°F—2.8°F above the 30-year norm of 71.4°F. Rainfall was just 2.04 inches, marking a 1.54-inch shortfall for the month. The heat peaked June 24, when the mercury soared to 102°F at Atlantic City International Airport, the highest recorded temperature of the month.

The dry pattern and elevated temperatures were echoed at the Frank Farley State Marina site, where June ended 1.9°F warmer than normal with nearly 1.6 inches less rain than average. The warm, dry conditions raised concerns for drought-sensitive areas and contributed to increased wildfire risk statewide.

Residents are urged to monitor water usage and stay hydrated during prolonged warm spells. With reduced rainfall, local officials may consider issuing water conservation advisories if the dry trend continues into July.

More heat is likely in early July, but no immediate precipitation relief is in sight. Stay tuned to NWS Mount Holly for updated advisories and weekend heat alerts.
