Mount Holly, NJ – A cool, breezy Thursday will give way to frosty overnight conditions across much of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, according to the National Weather Service office in Mount Holly.
Forecasters say daytime highs will range from the upper 40s to mid-50s under partly cloudy skies, with northwest winds keeping the air brisk through the afternoon. Conditions will turn much colder after sunset, as clear skies allow temperatures to plunge into the low 30s across inland areas and mid-30s to low 40s near the coast.
“Frosty tonight under clear to partly cloudy skies,” the National Weather Service noted in its early morning forecast update. Areas around Allentown, Reading, and Trenton could dip close to the freezing mark, while coastal regions such as Atlantic City and Cape May will stay slightly warmer in the upper 30s and low 40s.
Residents are urged to protect sensitive plants and outdoor plumbing, as frost formation is likely overnight into early Friday morning.
Conditions will moderate slightly Friday with highs in the mid-50s, but another chilly night is expected heading into the weekend.
