Newark, New Jersey – New Jersey is expected to transition back to more seasonable February conditions beginning Tuesday, February 10, as the 8–14 day outlook highlights increasing precipitation and temperatures settling near normal through Monday, February 16. The pattern supports renewed snow chances across the state as colder air becomes more consistent.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, above-average precipitation is favored across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast during the February 10–16 period, including New Jersey. Temperatures are projected to trend close to mid-February norms, keeping highs and lows near the freezing mark at times. This occurs while much warmer-than-average conditions persist across the central United States.

Rather than one major winter storm, the outlook points to several opportunities for snow during the period. North Jersey, including Sussex, Morris, and Passaic counties, has the highest likelihood of accumulating snowfall, especially during overnight hours. Interior sections along the I-78 and I-80 corridors may also see periodic snow as colder air remains in place.

Central and South Jersey, including Trenton, New Brunswick, and Atlantic County, could still see snow at times, particularly during nighttime and early morning periods when temperatures dip closer to freezing. Along the immediate coast, precipitation type may vary at times, but snow remains possible as the colder pattern settles in.

With temperatures fluctuating near 32 degrees, travel conditions may change quickly. Slick roads, refreezing, and patchy black ice are possible during commutes, especially on untreated surfaces. NJDOT crews may need to conduct repeated treatments if snow develops in several rounds.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed, plan for winter travel, and keep emergency supplies readily available. With the colder, wetter pattern expected to persist through Monday, February 16, additional advisories or snow-related alerts may be issued as confidence increases heading into next week.
