Philadelphia, PA – A soggy pattern will keep eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware drenched through the weekend, with isolated thunderstorms possible as early as this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, an upper-level low pressure system will lift through the region, bringing waves of showers from south to north today before tapering off late. Total rainfall could exceed 1 inch in parts of northeastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey by Thursday night, with localized downpours creating minor flooding risks.

Temperatures will stay well below normal, hovering in the 60s across most of the region, including 65°F in Allentown and 68°F in Wilmington. Coastal areas such as Atlantic City and Ocean City will feel the chill from onshore winds. Philadelphia should peak around 70°F before clouds thicken again by evening.

Drivers should remain alert for wet roadways and poor visibility during passing storms. Residents are encouraged to delay outdoor plans and monitor weather updates, especially in flood-prone zones.

Conditions are expected to gradually dry out by Sunday, though lingering moisture may extend light showers into Saturday for inland areas. Additional advisories are possible if thunderstorm activity intensifies midweek.
