Mount Holly, NJ – Residents across New Jersey, Delaware, and the greater Philadelphia area can expect a mostly dry week ahead, but forecasters are warning of potential coastal flooding midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, northeast winds will strengthen by Tuesday night into Wednesday, driven in part by tropical systems tracking well to the south. These winds are expected to push water inland along the oceanfront, Delaware Bay, and back bays. The result could be minor coastal flooding during Wednesday evening’s high tide.

Forecasters noted that skies will feature increasing mid- and high-level cloud cover Monday, particularly south of Philadelphia, but no significant rainfall is expected. Temperatures will remain seasonably warm through Tuesday before turning cooler as winds pick up midweek.

For now, the NWS does not anticipate a significant chance of rain for at least the next week or two. Instead, the main concern remains the impact of stronger onshore winds and potential flooding at vulnerable coastal locations.

Residents along the shorelines are urged to monitor tide forecasts closely, especially if they live in low-lying or flood-prone areas.
