New Jersey State Police Seize $36M in Marijuana and THC Products in Traffic Stop

Greenwich Township, NJ – New Jersey State Police seized more than $36 million in illegal drugs and arrested two suspects during a traffic stop.

Troopers pulled over a tractor-trailer on Interstate 78 in Warren County. The vehicle, operated by Attiq Ur-Rahman, 22, of Stockton, California, was transporting illegal substances.

According to police, the Mobile Safe Freight Unit conducted a commercial vehicle inspection on Tuesday. Officers discovered the truck was carrying large quantities of marijuana, THC products, and psilocybin.

A search revealed 8,042.2 pounds of raw hydroponic marijuana, 12,062 pounds of THC products, and 13.4 pounds of psilocybin. The total weight of the drugs reached 20,117.6 pounds.

Troopers arrested Ur-Rahman and his passenger, Hafeez Rehman, 35. Both face multiple drug-related charges.

Authorities continue investigating the source of the shipment.
