New Jersey State Police Seek Witnesses in Fatal Garden State Parkway Hit-and-Run

Middletown, NJ – Authorities are seeking the public’s help in an investigation into a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred Wednesday evening on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County.

According to the New Jersey State Police, the incident happened around 5:58 p.m. in the southbound express lanes near milepost 112.8. Jose Cerda-Estevez, 33, of Plainfield, NJ, exited a moving Honda Pilot and was struck by multiple vehicles that did not stop. He sustained fatal injuries.
