South Toms River, NJ – The New Jersey State Police are requesting public assistance in a motor vehicle crash investigation. The accident took place Thursday on the Garden State Parkway at milepost 46.8 in South Toms River, Ocean County.
Detectives report that at approximately 3:23 p.m., a spare wheel dislodged from an unidentified northbound vehicle. The wheel then struck a car traveling southbound, resulting in severe injuries to the driver.
According to the New Jersey State Police, they are seeking any witnesses who may have observed the crash or events leading up to it. Those with information are urged to contact Troop “D” Detective Bureau at 732-441-4500 ext. 5916.
Police emphasize that all tips, including anonymous ones, are welcome as they work to identify the vehicle involved and understand the incident.
