TRENTON, NJ — Cold air and strong winds have locked into place across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and northern Delaware, delivering a brisk and blustery end to Thanksgiving week. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly warns that gusts could reach 35 to 40 mph on Friday, making for a windy Black Friday across much of the region.
Highs will only reach the low to mid-40s, but with westerly winds blowing 20 to 30 mph, it will feel more like the upper 20s and 30s through most of the day. “Bundle up,” forecasters advised, as the combination of cold and wind will make shopping, outdoor work, or travel feel wintry despite the calendar still showing November.
Thursday’s cold front has left behind a dry but breezy pattern that extends through Saturday, with skies partly cloudy and temperatures struggling to climb much above the 40s. By Friday night, areas of northern New Jersey and the Poconos could see light snow showers, especially along higher elevations and ridges.
Saturday looks calmer but still cold, with lighter winds and highs near 45°F. The next change comes Sunday, when a new system brings a 50–60% chance of rain, signaling a shift toward a wetter early December pattern.
