Philadelphia, PA – A Frost Advisory remains in effect for portions of southern New Jersey and southeastern Pennsylvania from 2 a.m. until 9 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

Forecasters say temperatures will dip into the low-to-mid 30s, allowing widespread frost formation across Mercer, Monmouth, Camden, Gloucester, Burlington, Ocean, and Cumberland counties in New Jersey, as well as Berks, Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks counties in Pennsylvania.

According to meteorologist Cooper, frost could harm or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. Residents are encouraged to bring potted plants indoors, cover garden crops, and disconnect outdoor hoses to prevent freezing damage.

The advisory signals a chilly start to Friday and may mark the first frost of the season for many suburban areas west and south of Philadelphia. Temperatures are expected to rebound into the 50s by late morning, with clearer skies through the weekend.

The National Weather Service recommends taking precautions tonight to protect any remaining fall plants as the growing season nears its end across the Mid-Atlantic.
