Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Rain will move into the region late tonight, bringing wet roads and the chance for a brief thunderstorm before a sharp cooldown takes hold by Friday.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, showers will spread from northwest to southeast later tonight, with a few thunderstorms possible across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Temperatures will remain mild overnight, ranging from the low 40s to low 60s before colder air arrives.
By Friday, periods of rain will continue into the early afternoon, followed by falling temperatures and a strengthening northerly breeze. Highs will range from the mid-40s north to mid-60s south early in the day before dropping later.
The weekend turns noticeably cooler. Saturday will bring sunshine but highs only in the mid-30s to mid-40s, with breezy conditions making it feel colder. Sunday offers a modest rebound into the upper 40s to mid-50s, though coastal areas remain cooler.
Drivers should prepare for wet roads late tonight into Friday, especially along I-95, the Schuylkill Expressway, and surrounding commuter routes.
Conditions dry out this weekend, but the cooler pattern will persist, with additional updates possible as temperatures fluctuate into early next week.
