Philadelphia, PA – Chilly fall air will settle across the Mid-Atlantic tonight, bringing the season’s first round of patchy frost to parts of eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

A Frost Advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday for areas where the growing season is still active. Temperatures are expected to dip into the mid-30s, with colder readings near 32°F in inland valleys north and west of Philadelphia.

Daytime highs Thursday will stay in the upper 50s to near 60°F, followed by breezy afternoon winds before calmer, colder conditions develop tonight. Sensitive vegetation may be damaged if not covered or brought indoors.

Forecasters say the chilly pattern will persist into Friday morning before moderating slightly over the weekend, with highs returning to the low 60s under mostly sunny skies.
