Philadelphia, PA – The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Wind Advisory from 10 a.m. Friday through midnight, warning of gusts up to 50 mph across Delaware, New Jersey, and eastern Pennsylvania, including the Philadelphia metro area.

According to the NWS, sustained west winds of 20–30 mph will strengthen through midday, peaking this afternoon and evening before slowly diminishing overnight. Areas most affected include Wilmington, Trenton, Camden, Atlantic City, and Philadelphia, as well as inland counties from Sussex, DE to Morris, NJ and Lehigh, PA.

Forecasters caution that the strong winds could topple small tree limbs, blow around unsecured outdoor objects, and cause isolated power outages. Coastal counties—Monmouth, Atlantic, Ocean, and Cape May—may experience the strongest gusts, especially near the shore.

Drivers of high-profile vehicles should use extra caution, particularly on bridges and open highways. The NWS also reminds residents to secure Halloween or fall decorations before the wind event begins late Friday morning.

Conditions are expected to improve overnight as winds gradually subside into early Saturday.
