Philadelphia, PA – Residents across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland will see a stretch of warmer, dry weather through the weekend before rain chances return by midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

Forecasters said Thursday night that conditions will stay clear through at least Tuesday, October 7. The first measurable rain is not expected until late Tuesday or Wednesday, with probabilities around 60–70% for showers and possible storms on Wednesday, October 8.

Temperatures will trend above seasonal averages, especially in the Philadelphia metro. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 70s to low 80s this weekend, with Philadelphia expected to hit 80°F on both Saturday and Sunday. Coastal areas including Atlantic City and the Delaware beaches will also remain warm, topping out in the mid-70s. Overnight lows will be comfortable, generally in the upper 50s to mid-60s.

Inland areas such as Reading, Allentown, and Morristown will experience slightly cooler conditions at night, with lows dipping into the upper 40s to low 50s through Saturday. Still, daytime highs will stay in the mid-to-upper 70s.

The warm and dry stretch is expected to give way to unsettled weather by midweek. Wednesday brings the strongest chance for rain, which could affect both the morning and evening commute. Cooler temperatures are forecast to follow, with highs dropping back into the mid-60s by Thursday, October 9.

The NWS advises residents to enjoy the mild weekend weather but prepare for potential wet conditions next week.
