Mount Holly, NJ – The National Weather Service warns that significant beach erosion and dune breaching are very likely along the New Jersey and Delaware coasts through Monday as a powerful coastal storm brings damaging winds, high surf, and tidal flooding.

According to the National Weather Service Mount Holly office, seas of 15–20 feet are expected offshore, with storm-force winds gusting between 50–60 mph near the coast and 30–40 mph inland. The agency says these conditions will combine with multiple high-tide cycles to produce moderate to major coastal flooding, roadway inundation, and potential structural damage in low-lying areas.

The heaviest impacts are forecast along Delaware Bay and the Atlantic shores of both states, where substantial beach erosion is likely due to the prolonged onshore flow and pounding surf. Officials urge residents to heed local evacuation guidance and avoid flood-prone routes during high tides.

Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches could worsen flooding in some areas, compounding tidal impacts. Power outages and scattered tree damage are also possible as gusty northeast winds continue through Monday night.

Residents are advised to stay updated through the National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly forecast office and local emergency channels for the latest coastal flood warnings and advisories.
