Philadelphia, PA – Although freezing rain has ended, slick and icy roads remain a concern across the region, particularly on untreated surfaces. Temperatures will reach near-seasonal levels today as drier air moves in, but another round of winter weather is on the horizon.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, a series of low-pressure systems will pass south of the area, bringing multiple waves of snow from Tuesday into Wednesday. Forecast models indicate snowfall totals could reach 4-6 inches along the New Jersey and Delaware coasts, while Philadelphia and surrounding areas can expect 2-4 inches. Northern Pennsylvania and parts of North Jersey may see lighter accumulations of 1-2 inches.
Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate Tuesday morning as snow begins, with accumulation continuing through Wednesday evening. Residents are advised to prepare for hazardous road conditions and possible delays. Temperatures will hover in the upper 30s today before dropping as the storm moves in.
