Philadelphia, PA – After a brief dry spell Tuesday, residents across southeast Pennsylvania and New Jersey should prepare for a return of wet weather starting Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center, the heaviest rainfall over the past 24 hours was concentrated in southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New Jersey. Rainfall is expected to return to these regions on Wednesday and may persist through Friday, bringing light to moderate accumulation.

The 72-hour precipitation forecast indicates widespread showers of up to 1 inch across the region, with southeastern areas likely experiencing slightly higher totals. While the rain may inconvenience commuters and outdoor plans, officials report no river flooding is expected at this time.

Travelers should anticipate slick roads during the morning and evening hours, particularly along I-95 and U.S. Route 1 corridors. PennDOT has not issued any advisories but urges caution during wet conditions.

Residents are advised to check local alerts, clear drains of debris, and prepare for several damp days ahead. This week’s rainfall, while moderate, comes after already saturated conditions in parts of the Mid-Atlantic, making it important to monitor updates into the weekend.
