Manchester, New Hampshire – Showers and patchy fog will impact drivers and early commuters in Manchester overnight, with rain lingering through Friday morning before skies clear and summer heat takes over the state this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray/Portland, rain is expected mainly before 5 a.m. Friday, with dense fog reducing visibility across southern New Hampshire. Scattered showers will taper off by late morning, and conditions will gradually become mostly sunny by the afternoon. Friday’s high will reach 76°F, but Saturday marks a sharp warm-up with temperatures climbing to 81°F and highs reaching 90°F on Monday.

Residents in Manchester, Hooksett, and the greater Hillsborough County area should be cautious on wet roads early Friday, especially where fog is thickest. Minimal rainfall totals are expected, but visibility may drop to less than a quarter mile at times. After Friday morning, expect a stretch of dry, sunny weather with low humidity—ideal for outdoor plans but potentially hazardous for those sensitive to heat by Monday.

Officials recommend allowing extra travel time Friday morning, using headlights in fog, and staying hydrated through early next week as temperatures rise. This heat is the most intense since late June and could challenge utilities and outdoor workers.

The rain threat ends by midday Friday, with hot, sunny weather forecast through at least Wednesday. More weather advisories may be issued as the heat intensifies.
