Manchester, NH – After a cool, foggy start Friday, southern New Hampshire heads into a stretch of unseasonably warm fall weather, with highs climbing into the low 80s through early next week. The mild surge could push outdoor activity well into October but also create pockets of morning travel delays from fog.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray/Portland, patchy fog will form overnight and linger through the Friday morning commute, especially in valleys and along I-93 and Route 101. Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time and use low beams. Once fog clears, sunshine and light southwest breezes will lift highs into the mid-70s.

Saturday and Sunday continue dry and bright, with highs near 81 and lows holding in the low 50s. According to forecasters, Monday will be the warmest day of the stretch, topping out at 82 under full sun. Clear skies at night will support more fog formation, particularly in low-lying areas before dawn.

By Tuesday, conditions turn unsettled as scattered showers move in, with rain chances increasing into Wednesday. Cooler air follows, dropping highs back to around 70 by midweek.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the mild fall weather this weekend but remain cautious of fog-related hazards on early drives. Gardeners should note that no frost concerns are expected into early next week, giving a brief extension to the growing season.
