New Hampshire – The air bites hard across Manchester this morning, where temperatures sit at just 12 degrees under clear skies. Frost coats windshields, and untreated side streets remain slick after the deep freeze.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray/Portland, sunshine pushes highs to near 33 degrees today with light northwest wind becoming calm. Skies stay mostly clear into tonight, but temperatures drop fast after sunset, bottoming out near 17 degrees. Any melted snow will refreeze, creating classic February flash freeze spots on bridges and ramps along I-293 and Route 101.

Washington’s Birthday turns partly sunny with a high near 37. Clouds increase Monday night with lows around 23. The pattern shifts Tuesday, February 17, as milder air builds in. Highs reach 43 degrees under partly sunny skies, a noticeable thaw for mid-February.

Midweek brings the next Weather Alert moment. A system arrives Wednesday afternoon with rain developing after 2 p.m., then mixing with snow after 4 p.m. Highs hover near 42. By late Wednesday night, precipitation turns mainly to snow with an 80% chance as temperatures fall to 27 degrees. Slushy roads could become snow-covered before daybreak Thursday.

A few lingering snow showers remain possible Thursday before partial clearing, with highs near 40.

Looking into President’s Day Week, above-normal temperatures expand across much of the nation. While New England stays seasonable, gradual moderation hints at early spring vibes heading into late week.
