Manchester, NH – Rain and wind could complicate midweek travel in southern New Hampshire, with slick roads and cooler temperatures arriving by Wednesday night. While Monday brings only a slim 20% chance of isolated afternoon showers, breezy conditions are the real story—gusts could reach 30 mph in the Manchester area by evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray/Portland, winds will continue out of the northwest at 15 to 20 mph Monday, keeping highs in the upper 50s despite partly sunny skies. That wind lingers into Monday night, holding temperatures in the low 40s and making it feel colder.

Tuesday offers a brief break in the action with mostly calm conditions and highs near 62°F. But by late Wednesday, rain chances climb to 60%, rising to an 80% likelihood by Thursday night. Rain could become steady, with daytime highs slipping into the low 50s and nighttime lows dipping to the low 40s.

Drivers along Route 3 and I-293 should be alert for reduced visibility and possible pooling on roads during the Wednesday evening commute. If you plan to travel late in the week, keep an umbrella handy and check for local alerts.

Here’s the extended 5-day outlook for Manchester:

  • Wednesday: 30% chance of showers after 2 p.m., high near 55°F
  • Thursday: Rain likely, high near 50°F, 80% chance
  • Friday: Showers continue, mostly cloudy, high near 57°F
  • Saturday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers, high near 61°F
  • Sunday: Partly sunny, 67°F and drier conditions return
