Manchester, N.H. – Manchester residents should brace for a sweltering stretch beginning Sunday as temperatures soar into the 90s and remain there through midweek. The hottest day is expected Monday, when highs could reach 95°F and heat indices climb even higher.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday’s heat will arrive under mostly sunny skies, with light winds doing little to provide relief. The combination of hot afternoons and mild nights in the upper 60s will keep the region warm around the clock, especially in urban areas like downtown Manchester and along I-293. Outdoor workers and eventgoers should plan for hydration breaks and shade.

This early August heat surge will cover much of southern New Hampshire, impacting travel comfort and outdoor activities from Nashua to Concord. Residents heading to Lake Massabesic or area parks may want to go in the morning before pavement and playground surfaces heat up. The warm, dry stretch will also increase demand for cooling indoors, so energy conservation is recommended during peak afternoon hours.

Hot weather is expected to persist until at least Wednesday before slightly cooler air moves in. NWS urges residents to monitor local alerts in case heat advisories are issued.
