Conway, NH – Northern New Hampshire communities should prepare for slick, potentially hazardous travel as a wintry mix moves in from 7 p.m. Saturday until 7 a.m. Sunday. The overnight system will bring freezing rain, sleet, and light snow across Northern Carroll, Northern Grafton, Southern Grafton, and Southern Coos counties.

According to the National Weather Service, the region is under a Winter Weather Advisory, with up to one inch of snow, one-quarter inch of sleet, and around one-tenth of an inch of ice expected. Even small accumulations may cause quickly deteriorating road conditions after dark.

Forecasters warn that untreated roads, side streets, driveways, and walkways may become icy, especially as temperatures fall during the evening. According to meteorologists, the combination of sleet and glaze ice could make travel hazardous through early Sunday morning.

Drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra time, and check road status before heading out. New England 511 provides updated travel information throughout the event.

Residents should also take care walking outdoors, as icy surfaces may increase the risk of slips and injuries overnight and into early Sunday.
