New Hampshire — Cold air bites harder this morning as gray clouds hang low over southern New Hampshire. The mild stretch fades fast, and winter steps back into control as Manchester heads toward a colder, riskier end of the week.

Temperatures start the day near 40 degrees, but the trend is downward. A few light showers may pass through later today. They stay spotty, yet damp pavement sets the stage for problems later. By tonight, colder air slides in, and rain may briefly mix with snow. Little accumulation is expected, but visibility could dip.

Thursday brings a noticeable shift. Clouds linger early, then thin as colder air pours south. Highs top out near the low 40s before falling quickly after sunset. Northwest winds increase, pulling in much colder air by Thursday night. Lows plunge into the low teens, and untreated roads may begin icing.

Friday delivers the heart of this Winter Weather pattern. Sunshine returns, but it offers little warmth. Highs struggle to reach the upper 20s. Gusty winds add bite, and wind chills drop into the teens. Any leftover moisture freezes fast, raising the risk of black ice during the morning commute. Drivers should slow down and watch bridges and ramps closely.

Friday night stays cold and quiet, with lows near 21. The weekend turns more unsettled. Saturday warms slightly, reaching near 40, but rain may mix with snow early. As colder air returns Saturday night, another brief changeover to snow is possible.

Sunday stays cold and mostly dry, with highs in the low 30s. Looking ahead to Jan. 19–23, NOAA outlooks suggest near-normal temperatures with additional precipitation chances returning to New England.

Heading out early Friday? Watch for icy patches. How cold did it feel in your neighborhood?
