Concord, New Hampshire – Drivers across central and southern New Hampshire could face snow-covered highways and low visibility through the early morning hours as the final bands of a winter storm move through before 7 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 a.m. Saturday for much of southern and central New Hampshire, including Concord, Manchester, Keene, Dover and the Lakes Region, as well as Interior York County in Maine. An additional inch of snow is possible before the system pulls away, bringing storm totals to 5 to 8 inches.

Periods of moderate snow and localized heavier bands may briefly reduce visibility and rapidly coat roads, especially along Interstate 93, I-89, Route 16 and the Everett Turnpike. Communities including Laconia, Rochester, Lebanon and Sanford, Maine, could see slick bridges and untreated secondary roads during the early commute window.

Officials urge drivers to slow down, increase following distance and check newengland511.org for live road conditions. Keep emergency supplies in vehicles in case of delays.

Snow will taper toward sunrise, but icy patches may linger through mid-morning as temperatures remain below freezing.
