New Hampton, NH – A Massachusetts man suffered minor injuries early Saturday after a box truck crash on Interstate 93 in New Hampton.

According to New Hampshire State Police, the crash occurred around 4:26 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, near Exit 23 on I-93 northbound. Troopers from the Troop D barracks responded and found a 2012 yellow Hino box truck that had left the roadway and come to rest in the trees in the median.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old Anilton Resende Barros of Brockton, Massachusetts, allegedly failed to negotiate a curve, causing the truck to travel into the median. The vehicle crossed over the divider between the northbound and southbound lanes, struck an embankment, and launched into a group of trees before stopping.

State police said Barros suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The crash forced closures of the left travel lanes in both directions at Exit 23 for about four hours. All lanes were reopened by 8:58 a.m.

Authorities said the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper John Zavala at John.A.Zavala@dos.nh.gov.
