Merrimack, NH – Authorities are investigating after decomposed human remains were discovered Sunday morning near the Merrimack River, according to the New Hampshire State Police.
Police said the remains were found near the riverbank off Wright Avenue around October 26, when a duck hunter reported the discovery to 911. Members of the Merrimack Police Department secured the scene and requested help from the NH State Police Marine Patrol due to the site’s proximity to the river.
The NHSP Major Crime Unit and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner have also joined the investigation to help determine the identity of the remains and the cause of death.
Officials described the case as an ongoing death investigation, with updates to be released as more information becomes available.
