Manchester, New Hampshire – Ponding water and slow-moving showers could disrupt commutes across southern New Hampshire Tuesday, with Manchester and Concord most affected.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray, ME, a slow-moving system will bring widespread rain to the region beginning Tuesday night and continuing through at least Thursday morning. Showers may be heavy at times Wednesday, with total rainfall reaching 1 to 2 inches—enough to cause minor flooding on roads with poor drainage, including sections of I-293 and Route 3A in Manchester.

Some areas may also experience patchy fog early, further reducing visibility for drivers during the morning rush. Motorists should allow extra travel time and avoid water-covered roads. Localized flooding is most likely in low-lying zones and urban centers.

Thunderstorms are possible into Wednesday afternoon, though severe weather is not currently expected. By Wednesday night, rain will taper to scattered showers before giving way to partly sunny skies Thursday.
