Manchester, N.H. – Drivers across southern New Hampshire could face slowdowns early Wednesday and Thursday as dense patchy fog forms before sunrise. Commuters on I-293 and Route 3 should plan extra time for travel, with visibility likely dropping below a quarter mile in spots.

According to the National Weather Service, fog is expected to lift by midmorning, leaving behind bright, sunny skies with comfortable highs in the mid-60s to low 70s. Winds will stay light, but the shift to October will bring noticeably cooler evenings, dipping into the low 40s by Thursday night.

Manchester, Concord, and Nashua will all see clear afternoons once the fog clears, making for pleasant fall weather. Residents planning outdoor activities should take advantage of the sunshine but drive cautiously during early hours when fog clings to low valleys and river crossings.

The rest of the week stays mild and dry, with temperatures rising toward the weekend. Friday looks especially inviting, with highs near 72 degrees under mostly sunny skies. By Saturday, warm air returns, pushing highs into the upper 70s before holding near 80 degrees Sunday and Monday.

While no major storms or weather hazards are in sight, early October mornings will continue to bring brief but sharp visibility concerns for commuters. Drivers are urged to use headlights, reduce speed, and allow extra space when traveling through fog.

Clear skies remain the theme, but New Hampshire’s fall weather keeps mornings tricky until fog season fades later this month.
