Bow, N.H. – A 21-year-old Hooksett man was seriously injured early Tuesday following a high-speed pursuit and rollover crash on Interstate 93.

According to New Hampshire State Police, the chase began around 2:47 a.m. when Trooper Noah Gooch of the Troop D barracks initiated a traffic stop on a southbound 2014 Volkswagen Jetta in Bow. Police said the driver, later identified as Aaron C. Thurber, allegedly fled the stop at a high rate of speed, prompting troopers to pursue.

Authorities reported that just south of the Hooksett tolls, troopers deployed tire deflation devices, successfully puncturing one of the Jetta’s tires. While passing through a work zone in Hooksett, the vehicle allegedly came close to striking a construction worker before using a restricted access crossover to reverse direction and head northbound.

The pursuit entered Northfield, where police said Thurber lost control, veered off the road, struck an embankment, and rolled the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Thurber faces pending charges of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying a police officer, and reckless operation, authorities said.

Troopers from the Troop B barracks, Northfield Police Department officers, and members of the Tilton-Northfield Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Trooper Noah Gooch at Noah.D.Gooch@dos.nh.gov.
