Concord, NH – New Hampshire State Police are renewing calls for public assistance in two long-standing unsolved homicide cases, hoping to bring closure to the families of Eric Fitting and Kathleen Randall.
According to the Cold Case Unit, the remains of Eric Fitting, 33, of Fall River, Massachusetts, were discovered on September 19, 2009. A hunter found Fitting’s body in a wooded area off Route 124 in Sharon, New Hampshire. Authorities reported that Fitting had been shot to death. Despite extensive investigation, including multiple inquiries in Massachusetts, the case remains unsolved.
The second case dates back more than 50 years. Kathleen Randall, 18, a freshman at Boston University, was reported missing on September 19, 1972, after failing to return to her dorm. Her body was found on October 1, 1972, at Yudicki Farm on Route 111A in Nashua. Investigators said decomposition made it difficult to determine the exact cause of death, but foul play was suspected and the case has been treated as a homicide ever since.
Police emphasize that even small details from the public could provide valuable leads. “Help us solve these cases and bring justice to the families of these victims,” the Cold Case Unit stated.
