Greenland, NH – The New Hampshire State Police Cold Case Unit is renewing its call for information in the unsolved 1985 homicide of Douglas Morgan, whose body was discovered near Route 101 in Greenland nearly 40 years ago.
According to investigators, Morgan, 36, of Sharon, Massachusetts, was last seen in early July 1985. His decomposed body was found on October 20, 1985, in a wooded area off the highway. An autopsy revealed that he had been beaten and stabbed to death.
At the time of his death, Morgan was reportedly set to testify in a federal trial in Boston involving a $2 million stolen bonds case, in which he and four other men had been charged. Authorities believe his killing may have been connected to that case.
The homicide remains unsolved, and detectives are urging anyone with information to submit a tip online at business.nh.gov/ColdCaseTips or email coldcaseunit@dos.nh.gov.
