Lee, NH – New Hampshire State Police are once again asking for the public’s help in solving a decades-old homicide case. The body of Jaclynne E. Snyder, 22, was found on Route 155 in Lee on September 14, 1977.

According to the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit, Snyder, originally from Spokane, Washington, had been visiting Portsmouth when she was reported missing about a week and a half before her body was discovered. She was last seen leaving the Strawberry Banke area of Portsmouth on Sunday, September 4, 1977, at around 4:00 p.m.

Snyder was wearing a short-sleeve white shirt with dark blue checks, dark blue jeans, and brown shoes. She was also carrying a small dark blue backpack. While decomposition prevented medical examiners from determining the exact cause of death, investigators ruled Snyder’s death a homicide.

State police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the Cold Case Unit’s online form at business.nh.gov/ColdCaseTips or by email at coldcaseunit@dos.nh.gov.

Authorities say solving the case could bring long-awaited justice to Snyder’s family, who have been waiting nearly five decades for answers.
