North Hampton, NH – One person was injured Sunday morning after a box truck veered off Interstate 95 southbound in North Hampton, crashing into a tree line and closing a lane for several hours.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, the crash occurred around 9:29 a.m. on October 26, 2025, when a large box truck traveling southbound left the roadway and went down an embankment about 50 feet before colliding with trees.
The vehicle, a 2014 Freightliner M2, was driven by Aaron Carpenter, 42, of Providence, Rhode Island. Carpenter was initially trapped in the cab, but rescuers from North Hampton Fire & Rescue and the Greenland Fire Department managed to cut through debris to free him.
State Police said Carpenter was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The right lane of I-95 southbound remained closed for about five hours as crews worked to remove the heavily damaged truck.
Investigators have not yet determined why the truck abruptly left the highway. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to contact Trooper Alison J. Baumbach at 603-223-4381 or via email at AlisonJ.Baumbach@dos.nh.gov.
