Concord, New Hampshire – Snowplows across New England have logged one of the busiest winters in recent years, with several states already running well above their seasonal snowfall averages as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

According to the National Weather Service Eastern Region, preliminary 2025-2026 snowfall totals show widespread surpluses across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and much of New York. Some of the biggest numbers are centered in northern New England and western New York, where persistent storm tracks delivered repeated snow events through mid-February.

In New Hampshire, Mount Washington leads the region with 188.2 inches so far this season, slightly above its seasonal norm. Concord has recorded 48.5 inches, near average, while Manchester stands at 57.3 inches. Maine’s seasonal totals range from 50.9 inches in Portland to 68.1 inches in Caribou, with Bangor approaching 60 inches.

Massachusetts cities are also trending above normal. Boston has picked up 60.4 inches, well above its seasonal average, while Worcester has surpassed 75 inches. In Rhode Island, Warwick has measured 67.8 inches, more than double its typical seasonal pace.

New York continues to post some of the highest numbers in the East. Syracuse has tallied 130.4 inches, Rochester 105.4 inches and Buffalo 85.8 inches. Albany and Binghamton are also running above average.

While these values remain preliminary, additional late-season systems could push totals higher through early spring. Updated regional summaries are expected in the coming weeks as winter gradually winds down.
