Boston, MA – Residents across Massachusetts will feel a shift toward fall weather today, with sunny skies and cooler conditions setting the stage for a chilly night ahead.
According to the National Weather Service Boston, daytime highs will range between 67 and 73 degrees Saturday under dry, light winds. While the afternoon remains comfortable, forecasters warn of a significant temperature drop after sunset.
Interior parts of northwestern Massachusetts could see overnight lows dip into the 30s, while most inland areas are expected to fall into the upper 30s and low 40s. Coastal cities, including Boston, Cape Cod, and the South Shore, will remain a bit milder, holding in the upper 40s to low 50s overnight.
Forecasters note the clear skies and calm winds tonight will allow for rapid cooling, especially in valleys and sheltered areas. While no frost advisories have been issued as of Saturday morning, gardeners and homeowners in the interior may want to prepare for the possibility of patchy frost in colder spots.
Sunday is expected to continue the dry and fall-like pattern, keeping highs near seasonal averages before a gradual warming trend begins early next week.
