Boston, Mass. – Southern New England will see mid- to high-level clouds lingering much of tonight, with skies clearing slightly toward sunrise. Temperatures will dip into the 50s for most of Massachusetts, while higher elevations in western parts of the state may fall into the upper 40s.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, patchy fog is possible overnight in river valleys and across southeastern Massachusetts. The added moisture comes with slightly higher dew points than recent nights, creating conditions that could reduce visibility for drivers during the early morning commute.

Cities including Worcester, Springfield, and Pittsfield are expected to see overnight lows near 50 degrees, while Boston and coastal areas will hold in the mid- to upper 50s. Travelers on Route 2 in north-central Massachusetts and I-495 around the Merrimack Valley should be alert for fog developing by dawn.

Residents are advised to allow extra time for travel in fog-prone areas, use low beams when visibility drops, and be mindful of slick spots where condensation settles on the road.

Clouds and patchy fog may linger into early Tuesday morning before conditions improve through the day. Additional advisories could be issued if fog thickens overnight.
