Boston, MA – A breezy and seasonably cool day is ahead for Massachusetts, with temperatures climbing into the 40s but feeling cooler due to gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Boston/Norton.

Forecasters say winds will be lighter than earlier in the week but still brisk, with west to northwest gusts reaching up to 25 mph. This will push wind chills into the mid and upper 30s throughout the afternoon, even as actual temperatures reach the lower and middle 40s across much of eastern and central Massachusetts.

Skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds today, providing some breaks of brightness but maintaining a generally cool feel region-wide. Communities including Boston, Worcester, Springfield, Lowell, Lawrence, Providence, Plymouth, and the Cape and Islands can expect similar conditions through early evening.

Tonight, winds ease and skies clear north of the Mass Pike, allowing temperatures to drop into the upper 20s and lower 30s. Farther south, increased cloud cover will keep lows slightly milder, holding near the lower to mid-30s.

No precipitation is expected today or tonight, and overall travel conditions will remain favorable. The seasonably cool pattern continues into midweek, with temperatures slowly moderating later in the week.

NWS notes that despite the sunshine, the persistent breeze will make outdoor conditions feel noticeably cooler than the thermometer suggests. Residents should plan for layers, especially during commutes or outdoor activities this afternoon.
